Synopsis
Kinshasa; where the extravagant, vibrant nightlife eats away time. A privileged few live the high life, while all around them the masses live off the scraps. Those with nothing envy those with everything and have but one wish: to become the new masters of the night. Riva is one of those jealous dreamers. He returns after ten years away, his pockets bulging with money, intent on offering himself, and his friend J.M, a crazy night of drinking, dancing and debauched partying. Nora, mysterious and distant queen of the night, dances, while, watching her, Riva is mesmerized. The local kingpin considers Nora as his, but Riva doesn’t care: he must have this girl. Will he get his opportunity? Riva’s stash of cash was “borrowed” from his ex-boss, an Angolan gangster, who cuts a swathe of panic and destruction in his frenetic pursuit of Riva. As day approaches, the dream turns into a nightmare: Riva’s adventure, that started so extravagantly, comes to a dangerous climax in one of the most squalid corners of the city.
